The Splendors of Dawn Poetry Foundation has announced the winners for the February-April 2024 edition of the Splendors of Dawn Poetry and Short-Short Story Competition.
The competition announced on the official social media handles of the foundation called for entries in February 2024 and had over 20 entries ranging from poetry to short-short stories.
The competition theme: Whispers of Justice: Verses Against Corruption encourages poets to raise their voices against corruption through powerful and evocative verses. Poems delved into the injustices caused by corruption, the struggles of those affected, and the need for accountability and reform. Poets drew inspiration from real-life stories, historical events, or personal experiences to convey the urgency of fighting corruption.
The Judge of the quarter, Carl Terver scrutinized the entries and came out with three entries that emerged winners for the competition. Terver had this to say about the entries “It was a tough choice selecting this top 3. There are so many good works to look at, that not picking them made me feel guilty. So I had to narrow down to the quality of language that matches with the theme of justice and no to corruption”
